TV’s original dysfunctional family
Al Bundy was once the king of the school;
a star athlete with limitless potential. Now, he’s a grumpy shoe salesman with a shallow, lazy wife Peggy, a perpetually sleazy and egotistic son Bud, and Kelly, his vapid and boy-crazy daughter. Together, the Bundys have found that the secret to a happy family is to accept (and exploit) each other’s flaws. It’s like Al says; “Love. Hate. What’s the difference? We’re family.” The less-than-lovable Bundys are a radical departure from the saccharin-sweet TV families popular on TV comedies. With offbeat humour and unflinching honesty, Married With Children paints a more realistic picture of middle-class existence, warts and all.
